Compressed Air Leak Detection

  • Reduce wasted energy costs by identifying leaks within your compressor system.
  • Remedy issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Survey carried out with state-of-the-art ultrasonic leak detection technology.

Running a compressor installation can be expensive if all measures aren’t taken to optimise and enhance your system for greater efficiency. In fact, wasted energy within a compressor system is often an industrial business’ biggest source of energy loss, resulting in a huge financial burden.

One of the leading causes of energy loss is leaks. Even the smallest leak in your system can be raising your energy bill massively - and you may not even be aware of it! To put it into context, a hole with a diameter of 1.6mm can result in enough wasted energy to add an extra £252 onto your bill every year! For larger holes, the price can be much higher and if the issue is left undetected, this total will keep rising and rising.

To tackle this common air compressor ownership issue, PremiAir recommend regular leak detection surveys carried out by our service team. There is a risk of a leak occurring anywhere in your system including within pipework and tanks; therefore it is vitally important that the survey encompasses your entire installation to ensure all possible leakage areas are identified.

To do this, we use advanced technology to carry out the survey. Our high-tech ultrasonic compressed air and gas leak detectors allow us to identify leaks through sound. The device amplifies the sound of leaking air/gas to make it audible to the human ear. By their very nature, compressor and vacuum installations can be noisy as there are lots of moving machine parts and general factory background noise too. Our technology allows us to tune into the subtle ‘hissing’ sound of leaking air through the operator’s headphones, accurately locating areas that need attention.

Once the survey has been carried out we will present our findings to you in a report. We will be able to identify the exact size of each leak and use this information to estimate the impact this is having on your efficiency. Based on how expensive the leaks are, you will then be advised on whether repair work is recommended as the most cost-effective solution.

If you do decide to go ahead with repairs, we will carry this out swiftly to ensure the issues are resolved as speedily as possible and you can benefit from reduced costs right away!

We always recommend routine maintenance and regular servicing alongside air audits and leak detection surveys to ensure you’re getting the very best performance from your air system with the lowest lifecycle costs.
